What a day

What a day!

Before I talk about today, I should give a quick recap of yesterday.  Yesterday I went to yet another workshop.  This one was FAR more informative and I left with a lof of information and links that can help me with my research.  I am looking forward to the next two workshops in this series that will be held on alternating Tuesday’s for the next month.

Today I slept in far later than I had planned.  I woke up at 6ish to feed Molly and was still awake when Steph was getting ready for uni.  I feel bad she has to be up so early on Wednesday’s.  I finally fell back to sleep, and rolled out of bed at a very late hour.

I was starving, so I actually cooked myself breakfast.  Normally I’d just have a protein shake because I’m lazy and suck at cooking.  But today I bit the bullet and put bacon in the grill portion of the oven and made a feta omelette.  I also made some iced coffee with coconut milk.  I’ve been trying to finds ways to still have my coffee and have it taste good. I love my coffee (at home) with cream, but it’s a lot of calories.  Coconut milk has less calories and fat (at least the brand I’m using).  Right now, I need the extra calories for protein.  :)

After I ate, I got ready for the gym.  Today was NROLFW workout 1B.  My back has been a little tight lately, so I took it easy on the deadlifts and didn’t lift as heavy as usual.  The rest of the workout went fine, and I was done in about 45 minutes.

  • Barbell Deadlift:
    • 30 kg x 10 reps (+63 pts)
    • 40 kg x 10 reps (thrice)
  • Standing Dumbbell Shoulder Press:
    • 10 kg x 8 reps (thrice)
  • Lat Pulldown:
    • 45 kg x 8 reps (thrice)
  • Dumbbell Lunges:
    • 8 kg x 8 reps (thrice)
  • Weighted Exercise Ball Crunch:
    • 12 kg x 15 reps (thrice)

After the gym, I stopped at Tesco for bag-o-salad and a sweet potato.  I also stopped at Starbucks to get coffee.  I took the long way home and walked through Kelvingrove Park. It was beautiful out!

It’s been so beautiful out lately, I can’t help but take the time to enjoy the weather while the sun is out!

Is spring in the air where you are?
